Poetry is in the air...

You will see in our latest newsletter two wonderful poems, one a sensory poem and one an emotion poem, by year 3 and 4 students. A wonderful use of similies to express their messages.

Thank you Room 10 children for the following anthology, as a reader it was easy to 'picture' your messages in my mind...I am sure other readers would agree!

Colour My World
Birds are colourful just like you,
I try to be but it just doesn't suit,
I see rainbows and think to myself,
"Please colour my world so I'm not by myself"
I'm in black, You're in colour.
I hope that you colour my world,
So I can be like the others.

The World Was Dark on the Other Side
The worlds was dark on the other side.
I rose from my bed and boy was it bright.
I saw a beam and so it seemed,
Shining in the sky.
What was it?
So high in the bright blue sky.
Was it here or there?
What was it?
I'll never know,
But it was,
Awesome.

The Beach
The wind blows in my face like a fan on high.
The sun up high, gold and yellow,
The waves grow bigger and bigger the farther I look,
The blue sky with puffy white clouds make the day cool.
Everyone's eating red apples, blueberries and yellow bananas.
The green leaves fall off the brown tree.
The blue birds fly high and the grey stones lie on the ground all over the place.
The little kids with their bags full of cream coloured shells.
Bright faced kids playing in the sand, making sand castles and swimming in the water.
The salt water smells like normal,
Just the way it should be.

Have a great week everyone...
